What To Do When Pests Are Present

Ants

Indoors:

Spray ants directly when first seen inside the home with Black Flag® Home Invading Ant Spider Killer to control fire ants, Southern fire ants, tropical fire ants, carpenter ants, Argentine ants, pavement ants, larger yellow ants, little black ants, cornfield ants, odorous house ants, crazy ants, ghost ants, white footed ants, acrobat ants, field ants, velvety tree ants, pharaoh ants, red harvester ants.

Also treat all indoor ant trails. Spray along baseboards, walls, cabinets, counter tops, and hard to reach places like behind large appliances. If possible, treat entry points where ant trails enter the home.

To treat an entire room, use Black Flag® Indoor Fogger to control ants, airborne bacteria, and to leave the room with a fresh scent.

Outdoors:

Treat shrubs, around foundations, lawns and tall grass and weeds with Black Flag® Ant Roach Spider Killer - indoors

Prevention Tips

Ants enter homes seeking food, moisture, and a refuge from extreme outdoor environmental conditions such as dry, hot conditions or flooding (such as from a hard rain). To help keep ants from entering indoors, install gaskets around electrical wall plates, seal window frames, and use waterproof silicone caulking to seal cracks in foundations and other entry points. Keep kitchens and other food storage areas clean. Food sources such as sugar and honey should be stored in sealed containers. Clean up grease spills and remove garbage daily. Indoor potted plants should be inspected, as they could be an indoor nesting site.

Outdoors, keep shrubs, mulch and other plant material away from the foundation of the house as it can provide a nesting site for ants. Keep shrubs growing next to the house pest-free as honeydew from aphids and scale insects are a food source for ants.
