Yellow Jackets

Indoors:

If yellow jackets are a problem indoors, treat an entire room with Black Flag® Indoor Fogger & Air Sanitizer to control yellow jackets, airborne bacteria, and to leave the room with a fresh scent.

To treat indoor locations such as attics, use Black Flag Commercial Wasp Hornet Yellow Jacket Killer.

Outdoors:

Many species of yellow jackets build their nests in the ground, rodent holes, tree stumps, and occasionally in wall voids of buildings. When the nest is located, spray with Black Flag® Kills Wasps, Hornets, Yellow Jackets & Scorpions or Black Flag Commercial Wasp Hornet Yellow Jacket Killer. Stand at least 8-10 feet from the nest and direct the spray into the opening of the nest. After treatment, leave the area and do not disturb the nest for at least 24 to 48 hours then it can be safely removed.

Use the Black Flag® Yellow Jacket Motel™ to trap yellow jackets in the yard, around barbeques, or in picnic areas. The traps are most effective when used several hours before an outdoor event and placed away from areas where people frequent. Use of multiple traps in the area will provide better reduction of yellow jacket populations.

Prevention Tips

Most species of yellow jackets are very attracted to meat products, and they can be very annoying in picnic and barbeque areas as well as garbage cans and dumpsters. They are also attracted to sugar-based products, especially fruit and soft drinks. Keeping garbage cans sealed and removing food sources will help reduce yellow jacket populations.

Use the Black Flag® Yellow Jacket Motel™ starting in early spring to trap wintering queens when they emerge. Continued trapping throughout the spring and summer will help reduce the annoyance of yellow jackets.

Yellow jackets can sting. Be very careful when using traps and other control products.
